It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

…so why doesn’t it feel so wonderful?

Why is it when this time of year comes around, everyone is frantic and running around like a chicken with their heads cut off, trying to buy and spend until they’re broke and stressed?

I’m pretty sure I can tell you why. It’s because of the competition. It’s because everybody is trying to keep up with the Jones’s. It’s because Jesus is literally being taken away from the true meaning of Christmas.

To me, the meaning of Christmas is the commemoration of Jesus’ birth. It’s a time of love, family, and peace. So, why is it so hard to just calm down, chill out and breathe? Why does everything have to feel so chaotic and pressed?

I don’t know about all of you, but I legitimately have not even started Christmas shopping yet. Wanna know why? Because it’s just not at the top of my priority list. What is at the top of my list is being the best mom and wife I can possibly be, and loving my family as best I can. It’s also being as thankful as I can to God for sending his son to earth for someone like me.

Presents are nice, but they don’t prove love, just like diamonds and jewelry can’t prove to a woman that a man truly loves her.

The best way to show love for those in your family and those you care about this Holiday season, in my opinion, is to actually be there and actually love them. It’s just that simple. A few simple gifts are nice, but you cannot buy love.

This year, I encourage you all to take a step back and really be in the moment, in the spirit of what Christmas is truly about. And remember to give thanks to God above for sending his son, Jesus, to earth for us all. That’s what Christmas is all about. Stop stressing out about what you still need to buy…and just relax. This season is about so much more than that.

Be Blessed everyone, and have a Very Merry Christmas!
